Porters Neck Plantation Real Estate
Porters Neck
The words that come to mind when hearing the words “Porters Neck” are such words as elegant, charming, secluded, and stylish. Yet, they also exude warmth, friendliness, vibrance and more!
Built on land that began its history as a peanut plantation, it has casually been transformed into one of the neighborhoods visitors seek out when thinking about moving to Wilmington, NC.
Porters Neck is actually one large area made up of such neighborhoods as PN Belfair, PN Bishops Park, PN Creekside, PN Forest Circle, PN Hunters Green, PN Masters Ridge, PN Plantation and PN Bald Eagle.
Perhaps not its geographical center, but certainly its realistic center is the Porters Neck Country Club. PNCC caters to families, individuals, retirees, young families, and anyone not included in that list.
PNCC just celebrated its 25th anniversary. It has spent those 25 years embracing diversity to better serve the Porters Neck communities and Wilmington.
Such activities as golf, tennis, pickle ball, foosball, swimming and more are available to members of all ages. Clubs and organizations ranging from Chicks with Sticks to American Girls to lap swimming to tennis leagues abound here.
The Fourth of July is celebrated with the PNCC at its heart. The entire community comes together to celebrate and eat and have a grand time.
PN HOA also offers Kayaking with a launch area at the community picnic area.
And yet, leaving the neighborhood is necessary for such things as work, shopping, school, sports and beaches. All of these are no more than minutes from Porters Neck.
All of the area beaches are between 10 and 20 minutes by car. Shopping is less than that with Mayfaire and Ogden just outside the gates. Schools are less than 10 miles away. The public schools supporting Porters Neck are Blair Elementary, Holly Shelter Middle and Laney High. A variety of private schools are also within about the same distance.
Also close by are such institutions of higher learning as Cape Fear Community College and UNC-Wilmington.
Wilmington is also home to professional sports teams as Wilmington Hammerheads Soccer, Wilmington Sharks Baseball and Cape Fear Roller Girls as well as such fun activities as Bubble Soccer!
For those looking at Porters Neck saying, “We can’t afford this,” fear not! Yes, you can. The average cost of a home is $350,000 with an average square footage of 2,700 feet. That includes single family homes, patio homes, retirement condos and more.
With beaches close by, shopping, dining and entertainment even closer, top-notch schools for all ages just down the road, and such a warm, friendly inviting and welcoming neighborhood just waiting for your arrival, why would you look anywhere else?
